Aaron | Sanders was proud to be a part of the immensely successful International Trademark Association conference last week in Munich, Germany. The conference, entitled “When Trademark Rights Overlap with Other Rights,” was two days of advanced-level discussions of the overlap between trademarks and copyright, design, geographical indications, publicity, and unfair competition. It was the most well-attended December meeting in INTA history, with over 330 participants. Christoph Ernst of the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Mihály Ficsor, of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office took part in an interview conducted by Ronald van Tuijl, president-elect of INTA, on the state of the overlap between trademarks and patents. Tara Aaron moderated the discussion on Trademarks and Copyright and provided the U.S. perspective in the panel on Trademarks and Publicity. “It was truly an honor to work with the incredible Project Team and all the speakers on this event,” says Tara. “It was quite emotional when the conference was over to realize our hard work had paid off but that our year of talking to each other almost weekly was coming to an end. I can’t wait to work with these fantastic people again.”
